I recently discovered artist, Emily Carr while working on a curriculum project and fell in love with her work. After almost 2 years of not traveling, her art makes me want to hop on a plane to British Columbia. From the colors that she uses to her brushstrokes, I'm drawn into her paintings immediately.
Emily Carr is an artist that I had never heard of before this past year. Why is that? Don't get me wrong, I'm all for studying the "classic artists," such as Van Gogh and Monet, but there are so many wonderfully talented people that have lived throughout history that I want to introduce my kids to as we approach a new school year. If your kids have never heard of Emily Carr either, take a look at some of her other artwork below. Do you love her work as much as I do?

Having more time in the kitchen during these "Stay at home" days have been good for my soul. When I'm feeling overwhelmed or stressed about life, you'll most likely find me in the kitchen. There is something therapeutic about creating recipes that will nourish my family and bring a bit of joy to those I love. I recently discovered @halfbakedharvest while perusing Instagram and oh my goodness, am I glad that I did. Her feed is packed with amazing recipe ideas and inspiration. I highly recommend checking her out.
I don't know about you, but I can get in a food rut, where it seems as if I'm just recycling the same recipes over and over. Say good-bye to the same 'ol same 'ol, friends! And say hello to Cinnamon Crunch Knots! |
